And a good morning to you too. I will see this movie for the poster alone. And yes, I hope George Clooney is our next President. If so, I’m in! Also, anyone get a look at that cast list? #swagu

I hope you’ve found some peace, Amy. We all go back to black.

Rise And Retire With The Sun
“I was never in a hurry in my life. He lives long who enjoys life and bears no jealousy of others, whose heart harbors no malice or anger, who sings a lot and cries a little, who rises and retires with the sun, who likes to work, and who knows how to rest.” -Shirali Mislimov
Mislimov was a shepherd in the village of Barzavu in Azerbaijan. He died in 1973, allegedly at the age of 168. [via Inward/Outward]
Alan Rickman’s Letter
The Open Heart
“When you awaken your heart, you find to your surprise that your heart is empty. If you search for the awakened heart, there is nothing but tenderness. You feel sore and soft, and if you open your eyes to the rest of the world, you feel tremendous sadness. It occurs because your heart is completely open, exposed. It is the pure raw heart that has the power to heal the world.” -C. Trungpa
Someone Like You

Dame Helen Mirren
My dad sent me a quote today from an interview in Esquire Magazine with the always stunning and forever sassy Dame Helen Mirren. She said, “The hardest period in life is one’s twenties. It’s a shame because you’re your most gorgeous and you’re physically in peak condition. But it’s actually when you’re most insecure and full of self-doubt. When you don’t know what’s going to happen, it’s frightening.” And didn’t that just strike a chord with me.
I’m in one of the most confusing times of my life. I turn 29 at the end of August and I still don’t know what I want to do with my life, I’m not sure where I’m going to live when my lease is up, my bank account has about $10 in it and I battle daily with low self-esteem. Most of the time I just tell myself to breathe and know that after a few deep breaths I’ll be ok. The rest of the time I just want to crumple up in a ball on the bathroom floor.
But, I take comfort in the fact that life is hard for everyone and I take comfort in Helen Mirren.
Carmageddon
With the impending doom of Carmageddon looming over every Angeleno, we’ve just got to find something to laugh about and/or get the hell out of town. Palm Springs anyone?
